Pukekaka Sheep & Beef Farm was sold in 2019.

Pukekaka Sheep & Beef Farm is a large 1,109.8 ha hectare (2,742 acre) freehold property located beside the Rangitikei River, 26 kms east of Taihape in the central North Island (Rangitikei Region) of New Zealand.

Location and Situation 

Located on Pukeokahu Road, 26 km east of the town of Taihape. 80% of the property is rolling and easy to medium hill contour . The balance is steeper hill country with some native bush running down to the Rangitikei River which runs along 6 km of Pukekaka’s south eastern boundary.

Average annual rainfall is recorded at 950 -1,100mm. There is a good natural spring water supply that is harnessed to reservoirs and reticulated around part of the farm. The property is well laid out and has a high grade of fencing dividing it into 85 main paddocks, 18 holding paddocks and a series of lane ways. There is an excellent airstrip with 3 large fertiliser bins. A metalled road to the airstrip gives all weather access to the top of the property with a 23 km network of well-established tracks giving reliable 4WD access over the entire farm. The Farm runs 11,500 stock units.

Management and Staff – The quality of farm staff is critical to the success of any farming venture and there are two permanent employees at Pukekaka. The property has an excellent and progressive young manager with a proven track record of productive farming in the Taihape area. Casual labour is employed on an as and when required basis to assist with seasonal peaks.

Homestead and Staff Housing – There are four houses and two employee accommodation blocks on the property. The Managers house has been renovated; another is used for the permanent staff.

Murray Creek Dairy Farm is a 413.5 ha (1,021 acre) property in Southland, 6km from Lumsden. Murray Creek was purchased and syndicated in 2008 and is the second dairy farm offered by Roger Dickie in the Southland region and provided a rare opportunity for investors to participate, not only in the New Zealand dairy industry, but also to indirectly own a share of an investment in tangible assets, prime dairy land and plant. Following purchase a significant development programme was undertaken including instillation of a centre pivot irrigation system and shed improvement as well as additional staff housing and lane and pasture improvements.  Murray Creek Dairy Farm Ltd owns the farm and the herd. The farm is managed by a variable order sharemilker.

Eastbourne Dairy Farm

Eastbourne Dairy Farm is Roger Dickie (N.Z.) Ltd 92nd syndicated investment property. Eastbourne is 242.1 ha comprising of a 170.8ha milking platform and 71.2 ha runoff located 500 meters from the milking platform.

Eastbourne is located in Eastbourne Park Road, Thornbury, 25km North West of Invercargill.

The farm was purchased and syndicated by Roger Dickie (N.Z.) Ltd in 2014. The farm is managed by a Variable Order Share Milker (VOSM) Ben Worker a very capable young man. 

Eastbourne Dairy Farm is milking 520 cows and supplies its Milk to Open Country Dairy (OCD) who have a factory in Southland.  The farm has no debt and is producing at a high level.

Coldstream Downs Dairy Farm is a 349.9 ha (864 acres) property located in the Waimea Valley district, 30km from Gore. The farm is a quality, flat to easy undulating property that was converted from sheep farming in 2001. It has a modern 60 bale rotary dairy shed, and a good range of farm buildings and houses.

The farm was purchased and syndicated by Roger Dickie in 2005. This allowed a number of investors to participate, not only in the New Zealand dairy industry, but also to indirectly own a share of an investment in tangible assets, prime dairy land, livestock and plant.

The farm is managed by a Variable Order Share Milker.  Shareholders can visit their farm at any time.
